Hello! We will begin this week with Moby Max Benchmark Testing. Most students take this test three times a year (fall, winter and spring) in order to monitor student progress and also place students who need additional support in RTI. Students filled out goal sheets last week, reflecting on how they scored in the fall (or the last time they took the test) and created a goal for what they would like to earn on this test (winter). This week we will be doing some review with percents in regards to taxes and also working on scale factor. Here are some helpful links for reviewing the equation, Part = Percent * Whole Video on solving for percent Another review video including help with conversions between decimals and percents Scale factor is a topic we discussed in Module 1 but has come back again in Module 4, this time as a percent. We will be comparing a drawing given an original image and determining if it is a reduction (scale factor < 100%) or an enlargement (scale factor > 100%). Students can compute scale factor using the ratio drawing/actual. We have begun to see examples where one dimension is changed using a different scale factor than another dimension. When this happens, the image is said to be distorted. Students will have another Quizizz this week focusing on taxes, commission and fees. Code is 276766. We have our next gathering this Friday, 3/1 for all eligible students. Gathering begins at 2:00! The trimester ends next Friday and reports cards go home with students on Thurs. 3/14. Have a great week! Comments are closed.
