Last week was certainly difficult for all of us here at PCA and I'm sure for all of you who were fortunate to know Mr. Rice. We have only just begun the slow and difficult healing process. It has been a reminder for us all to appreciate everyone and not take those around us for granted.
This week's growth mindset quote is a combination of several different sayings that I have posted in my classroom that I keep encouraging students to use instead of the dreaded "I don't get this" or, "This is hard". Many students have the "tools" they need (i.e. resources), however when they first begin learning something new, it can be hard to remember them all. But that's ok! I encourage them to use their notebook, workbook or anchor charts in the classroom to find the information they need so that they can increase their confidence that they can do this! As with many things, it will take time and practice! Classes 1 and 2 will be taking a notebook quiz later this week as we begin Lesson 19. We will be having the End of Module 3 test next week. We will be covering area of other figures (such as triangles, parallelograms and trapezoids) as well as surface area and volume. The End of Module 3 test will cover the following topics:
Class 3 will be continuing their discussion of angle relationships and will also be discussing inequalities. They will be taking part of their Mid Mod 3 test this week. Their test will be administered in "chunks" to assess what we have just covered in class. Our classroom is in need of some of the following supplies. If you could send some of these with your student, it would be greatly appreciated!
