HERE is the optional extra credit assignment that will be due when students return from break on Monday 1/6.
Greetings! As we begin our last week before Winter Break, students will be learning more about proportional and non-proportional relationships in tables. We will also be exploring how we can use graphs to represent these types of relationships. Students will use prior knowledge of graphing on a coordinate plane and the relationship between the unit rate (constant of proportionality, k) and x and y values. The equation, y = kx will be an important formula for students to remember to help them with this concept. On Tuesday students will be taking a short quiz on proportional relationships in tables. Remembering that ratios that share a common constant of proportionality, k, represent proportional relationships and those that do not represent non-proportional relationships will be especially helpful. They will also have to solve for an unknown value of x or y using the y = kx formula. The Quizizz code for this week is 623825. It is a review of geometry (angle relationships, surface area and volume) and will be due Thursday night.
