I hope everyone had a restful break and a chance to spend quality time with family!
This week classes 1 and 2 will begin the last 7 lessons of Module 2 which will cover tape diagrams, investments, finding equivalent expressions with rational numbers and solving equations using algebra. Class 3 will wrap up the last few lessons before taking their mid-module 2 test later this week. Two areas that I'm seeing some students needing extra practice in is adding and subtracting decimals as well as adding fractions with uncommon denominators. Here's a video link that students may like to help them remember the rules for adding and subtracting decimals and here's a video link for finding common denominators. Don't forget the end of the trimester is coming up next week! Students who took tests prior to Thanksgiving break will have the opportunity to perform test corrections and get them in before grades are due. Tests will be handed back after class 3 has taken the test later this week. I am also offering extra credit for any students who are interested. The assignment will be to read an article from one of the Scholastic Math magazines in the classroom and write a one-page summary of the article. Reminder for Homeroom students - PCA Confirmation of Enrollment forms are due by Dec. 4th! |
