Fri 4/17 UPDATE:
For anyone who missed the live class this morning or just wants another chance at the Quizizz review game that we played today, here is the code: 394306. It will be available until Sunday night if you want to practice. It is not required, but HIGHLY recommended since many students need additional practice with compound probability. Welcome! As we begin week #3 of our new virtual learning platform, I just want everyone to give themselves a pat on the back! We are doing this! It is not easy but we are making the best of it! Let's keep it up during this third week. This week in math class we will focus on reviewing skills related to probability that we have already covered. We will be doing some additional hands-on activities, breaking out into small groups, playing games and challenging each other! My goal is for students to end the week having a much more solid understanding of probability (specifically compound events, simulations and tree diagrams) in order that they may feel more comfortable applying it to other concepts we will explore in the second part of Module 5. The second part of Module 5 will focus on sampling methods and using a representative sample to make inferences about the population. We will spend time next week talking about what makes a sample truly random. If students need additional review on the topics we've covered in the last two weeks, please check out the videos linked on the right side of the page or click below. Video on compound events Video on tree diagrams Beat the Odds game Also, Great Minds (publishers of the Eureka curriculum) continue to update their video library. They have finished Module 4 and now have the first two lessons of Module 5 posted. Check it out HERE! If your student has not completed the quizzes from the previous two weeks, please contact me as soon as possible so we can set up a time for them to take the assessment. Please reach out with any questions! See you at 9:30!
