Greetings! As we begin this short week, we will be finishing up our discussion of markups, markdowns and commission in Lesson 14, doing a brief review of proportional relationships using fractions in graphs and then beginning Topic D (Ratios of Scale Drawings). Click HERE for a parent newsletter giving an overview of what students will be learning in Topic D. This will be our last topic in Module 1. We will be relating the constant of proportionality / unit rate to a term called scale factor. When you multiply the lengths of the sides of any object by the scale factor, you can reduce or enlarge an object while keeping it proportional to its original size. Multiplying by a number greater than one enlarges an object and multiplying by a number less than one reduces, or shrinks an object. The End of Mod 1 test will be the week of Jan. 27.
Students will be taking an INB quiz on Wednesday covering pages up through 67. Please ensure notebooks are ready! The Quizizz code for this week is 948854 and the topic is Geometry. It will be due on Thursday night. Have a great week! Upcoming Events: Week of Jan 27 - Spirit Week Thurs. Jan 30 - Progress Reports sent home
