Hello! This week report cards will be going home with students in their Thursday folders. Also, Friday is a N.U.T. Day / dress to impress ($2).
In class this week we will be starting Module 1 - Ratios and Proportional Relationships. We begin with a discussion of rates (including unit rate which means per one) and learning what the word proportional means. Example: Find the unit rate if a car traveled 420 miles in 7 hours 420 divided by 7 is 60 miles per one hour We then explore how these types of proportional relationships are represented in tables and graphs using the formula y = kx where k represents the constant of proportionality. There is a new Quizizz code for this week! The code is 491473. It is a review of volume and surface area. |
