**Below are some additional tutorial videos on proportional relationships and unit rates: Rates and Unit Rates video Unit Rate video Proportional Relationships in tables and graphs Greetings! As we start the second full week of the new year, students will be taking their Mid Module 1 test. Click HERE for the study guide answer key that we reviewed in class on Friday. Below are some posters that students completed on proportional relationships just before break. I meant to post these last week, but did not get a chance! Identifying proportional relationships in graphs, tables and equations is what students will be tested on for the Mid Mod test. On Tuesday, students will continue our discussion of proportional relationships as we include more types of rational numbers (fractions and decimals) and multi-step problems. Next week we will also begin our discussion of scale drawings and how scale factor relates to the constant of proportionality.
As you know, we have been completing our math curriculum on Chromebooks this year and it can be time consuming or difficult for some students to be able to properly show all of their work. We recently came across a drawing tablet that we wanted to let you know about. This attaches to the computer via USB so it could also be used at home. If you are interested in these, here is a link to find out more information. Since students will be using Chromebooks in 8th grade as well, this could be an investment for not just the remainder of this year, but next year as well (this particular tablet was also recommended for 8th grade students as well). These tablets are about $30. I have ordered one myself and when it comes in, I can let students who may be interested in getting one try it out. Again, this is not mandatory, just a suggestion. Please contact me with any questions. Quizizz for the week will be due again on Thurs. night. The code is 413261. We had 15 students last week that earned 100% on angle relationships. Great job! Remember, no school on Friday for students (teacher PD day)! Have a great week!
