Greetings! This is our last full week before break. Students will also attend classes two days next week and 12/23 will be the first day of winter break. Students will return on Monday, January 4th.
This week in math class we will be continuing our discussion of geometry of circles as we talk not only about the distance around circles (circumference) but also the space that a circle covers (area). Students will be learning more about how diameter and radius of a circle are related and how they can represent the exact area or circumference of a circle by leaving Pi (π) in their answer. HERE is a Topic C Parent Newsletter that provides a nice overview of what students are and will be learning in these last lessons of Module 3. Student report cards should be arriving in the mail this week. You may also check Home Access if you have not yet received it. Please also keep an eye on Home Access to monitor your student's grades throughout the trimester. Don't forget to send student selfies to the yearbook by 12/22! There was an email address provided in the letter that was shared with families last week. Please reach out to your student's homeroom teacher with any questions. Have a great week everyone!
