*UPDATE* Peer directed tutoring will begin this Friday during elective time. Students must sign up for each Friday they wish to attend. Tutoring will be held in the cafeteria with Mr. P's elective. There are sign-up sheets in my classroom as well as a box the students need to place them into. There are a total of 6 tutors and each can work with up to 3 students. Any ELA or math related skills can be reviewed during this time. Please encourage your student to sign up for at least one Friday if they need help. They may find them very useful and want to go again.
*UPDATE* End of Module 2 Study Guide Answer Key can be found here. Hello! This week classes 1 and 2 will be taking the end of Module 2 test on Tuesday. Study guides were passed out in class on Friday. Students are expected to come to class on Monday with any questions they have on the study guide. I will post an answer key later this weekend. If a student was not in class to get one, I have also posted one here. Students will not be able to use a calculator on the first question, thus they must be able to perform long division and determine if the decimal is repeating or terminating. Class 3 will continue their discussion of equivalent expressions in Lesson 19 and discuss sales tax, discount and tips. Writing equations to represent tape diagrams will also be a key part of the end of Module 2 lessons. We took a quiz on Friday on tape diagrams, which are visual representations of word problems that will then help students to be able to write their own equations. If students are not yet comfortable with drawing tape diagrams, here is a helpful video. Class 3 will also be taking a notebook quiz this week (most likely Tuesday or Wednesday). If a student is missing notes, they need to borrow a friend's notebook or mine (must come to elective or stay after school for this latter option as I do not allow my notebook to leave my classroom). I will be available this Tuesday after school (3:45 - 4:45) if any students would like extra help or would just like to work on homework/make-up work. We enjoyed watching the Nutcracker ballet performance on Friday 12/8. What a talented group of dancers! Just a reminder - 1st Trimester report cards will be coming out this Thursday! |
