Greetings! This is the last week before grades are due for TM1. Please ensure any outstanding quizzes or tests are completed no later than Thursday so that grades can be entered by Friday.
This week students in all classes will be learning about geometry of circles including radius and diameter and using this to find circumference and area. This will include a discussion of one of the most famous ratios in math ---- pi (also represented using this symbol π). We will have many hands-on activities that will help students discover this information and understand how they can apply it to real-world situations. Here are some great resources for students to gain extra practice: Diameter, radius and circumference Circumference video Circumference and area video Tutoring begins this week! If you are signed up, I will see you on Wednesday! Students report to Mrs. Brewer's room directly after school and then I will pick them up at 3:45. Tutoring ends at 4:45. My extra help after school continues on Thursdays until 4:15. Math League will be meeting on Tuesdays instead of Wednesday due to my tutoring schedule. We will end at 4:30. Our next meet is Monday, 12/9. On Tuesday, students in RTI will be taking their placement test in Moby. This will be one of the factors we take into consideration in determining if students can advance to the next tier level. Here is a copy of the extra credit assignment that is due by Wed. 11/13. Don't forget the recording sheet, found HERE. This is an optional assignment (point value TBD) that will be added to one of the grades from TM1 that will have the largest impact on a student's grade.
