** HERE is the End of Mod 3 Study Guide Ans Key. Test on Monday, 12/9.**
Welcome Back! As we begin this first week of December we will be continuing our discussion of surface area and beginning our discussion of volume. Here is the parent newsletter that reviews the concepts we are covering in Module 3 Topic C (Geometry). We will be wrapping up Module 3 and looking a test early next week. Here is the Study Guide (we will also be passing this out in class later this week). For any students needing extra practice with surface area and/or volume, there are some extra practice worksheets in the classroom and I have also posted some helpful links below: Surface area video Surface area extra practice worksheet Surface area challenge (cylinder) Volume video Volume extra practice worksheet On Tuesday we will be having our third notebook quiz of the year. Please ensure your INB's are up-to-date. Check out the INB Pictures tab if needed! This week's Quizizz code is 846195. It will be further review of the geometry of circles and area of polygons. Next week we will have our STEM field trip to the Dover Roller Skating Rink on Tuesday, 12/10. We will be leaving at 10:00 and returning around 2:00. Students will first participate in a group lesson where "[they] will learn how math concepts can be found all over the skating rink. Students will measure and calculate the speed of a skater, use mean, median and mode to talk about skate sizes and study all of the shapes that can be found in a skating rink." They will then have about 2 hours for skating and lunch. This Friday will be Dress to Impress day as classes will be attending the in-school performances of the Nutcracker hosted by our very own PCA Ballet Theater! Have a great week everyone!
