Hello everyone! We have a busy week ahead of us as we are finishing up Mid Module 3 in math class and we have a Halloween parade and party on Wed. and a gathering on Friday (2:00 - dismissal).
First things first...students in all classes will be taking their Mid Mod 3 test this week in chunks. Students in classes 1 and 3 will take the first part of the test in the form of a quiz on Mon or Tues. Some students reviewed angle relationships and simplifying expressions in class on Friday. (Stay tuned for answer key for that sheet.) The remainder of the test will most likely be on Friday. Students in class 2 will take this test throughout the week once they have reviewed the study guide. Here is the Mid Module 3 study guide for all students. If students need extra practice on simplifying expressions, angle relationships or inequalities, please see below for helpful links. Angle basics video Angle word problems Solving inequalities (includes basic as well as advanced problems) Plotting inequalities on a number line Thank you to all those in my HR who have already signed up to bring goodies for the Halloween party on Wed. Students will come back to HR at the end of the day after the parade to enjoy these treats. On Friday, eligible students will have the opportunity to participate in the first gathering of the year. This event typically consists of extended recess (weather permitting), a movie and or computer time. Students completed a survey in HR last week in order for us to get a better idea of what students like most about this activity and what they may want to see changed. My homeroom also finished up episode 5/5 in the Growth Mindset video series featuring Mojo (from Class Dojo). We talked about times we may have felt like giving up and how important it is that we keep trying, even when we fail. Click here for video clip. What an awesome life lesson! |
