UPDATE: Here are some helpful videos on adding and subtracting integers.
Math Antics Khan Academy Greetings! If you are a Hybrid student, this week marks the first week of on-campus classes! What a milestone! I know so many of us have been anxiously awaiting this week! Now that in-person classes have begun, please make sure you are following your zoom schedule that varies according to the day of the week (previously we were just following the Wednesday schedule). There are also many important updates that were forwarded via email last week from our transportation manger, school nurse and HR that are applicable for our Hybrid students. Please make sure you have read and understand the changes and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. This week we will continue our discussion of operations with integers and rational numbers, expanding it to include subtraction. We will use subtraction to also calculate the distance between two numbers, represented by p and q. This is called the distance formula, |p - q|. We will discuss some additional strategies that can help us solve addition and subtraction numbers sentences as well as word problems. By Friday or early next week we will begin Topic B which includes multiplication and division of integers. I'd also encourage anyone who has not signed up for Remind to do so in order to received helpful reminders about important school events and upcoming assessments for math class. Sign-up information is under the Links tab. I would also like to thank everyone at home (parents/guardians/extended family) who are helping make virtual learning possible. It has not been an easy task, but together we can accomplish so much. Thank you for all your support and sacrifices for your student's education. Have a great week everyone!
