**UPDATE** Here is the Lesson 3 Exit Ans Key.
Hello! Well, we have finished the first week of school and everyone survived all the tests (Moby Max RTI Placement test, Pre-test and that's just math class)! Students did very well adjusting to new schedules, new routines, teachers etc. I am so proud of some exemplary citizenship I saw throughout the course of the week. Update on paperwork (specifically the last page of the Syllabus) - Class 3 is currently in the lead for having the highest percentage of papers turned in (84%), followed by Class 2 at 57% and finally Class 1 at 52%. Please make sure to turn those in if you have not done so already. This week we will pick up where we left off with Lesson 1 in Module 2 talking about rational numbers. Students will learn some new vocabulary including additive inverse and absolute value. They will also learn the difference between integers, rational numbers and whole numbers and how to perform basic operations with each. This concept will be further reinforced through use of the integer card game. This year, the upper school is utilizing math stations/centers in math classes. I am really excited about this and can't wait to begin this week. Stations will include Small group (with teacher), Math facts (Fluency), Technology/Review, Games and Independent work. We will be rotating through stations 2-3 times per week with the beginning of each class period having a mini whole group lesson. Reminder about homework - last Thursday (8/30) was the first time I checked homework and there were some students that had not completed it. Anytime students have homework, I announce it, write it on the board and also send it out on Remind. I highly encourage all students/parents to sign up for Remind to ensure they stay on top of assignments. Five missing homework assignments in a trimester will result in a referral. Staying on top of homework is also critical for ensuring students are getting adequate practice and have the notes that they need. If a student did not complete it for class last Thursday, they need to update their INB over the weekend using the INB Pictures link at the top of the page. The syllabus is also linked in last week's post if anyone needs it. Have a great week! |
