**RTI Benchmark Testing will be on Wed 5/23 and our Post-test (cumulative final) for math will be on Thurs 5/24. All post-tests are due (meaning I have to have them graded and submitted) by 5/30. This is why we are unfortunately having 2 tests in one week. Students can prepare by reviewing all graded assessments (tests/quizzes), exit tickets and notes from INB and workbook. I will have after school hours on Friday 5/18 and Monday 5/21 if any students would like to review any specific concepts. Hours will be from 3:45 - 4:45.
About one month to go! We are working on finalizing a Service Learning Project for early June (tentatively 6/6) and we have our end of year trip to Jolley Rogers Water Park in Ocean City on 6/8 to look forward to! As far as math goes, we have lot to do in these last few weeks and we still have a cumulative final exam that students will be completing before the end of May. State testing will be finished on Monday (except for any students who need to finish their test). I am so proud of all the students working so hard during this testing period - I know it can be trying for many, but they have done a great job. Classes 1 & 2 will be finishing up review of simulations for part 2 of the Mid Mod 5 test. Here are two sheets that will help students as they study for this short assessment (click here and here). This was homework for Class 2 and in-class work for Class 1 from Friday. This test will be on Tuesday for both classes. We will then work on the remaining lessons in Module 5 (we are a little more than halfway done). We will not finish Module 6 this year, but much of it will be a review of geometry topics we have already covered in Module 3. This final module will help prepare students for next year. Class 3 will finish up percent error, taxes, commissions, fees and simple interest and will be taking short quizzes throughout the week to assess student learning. It is important for students who have missed this last class of the day due to sports, or other obligations, to make up what they have missed so that they do not fall behind. Progress reports go home this Thursday, 5/17! Have a great week everyone! |
